TRR-BRSC is committed to offering weekly instruction to adaptive paddling (kayaking, canoeing, SUP). Our programs are offered at the UVA-Aquatics and Fitness Center (AFC), local lakes and rivers. Thus far, we have served disabled military veterans who have suffered Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), caused by blast injuries while serving in the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. Our paddling programs will benefit those with any adaptive needs (PTSD, spinal cord injuries, blind/visual impairments, traumatic amputations, etc. – please inquire). This program is available to any Disabled Veteran and their family who wishes to participate. We extend an open invitation to join us! Kayaking, canoeing, and Stand Up Paddle board (SUP) are great lifetime activities with many benefits to aid in the healing, rehabilitation and recovery from injuries sustained while serving our country.
