TA Ambassadors – Ellen and Bill Painter – Cycling Together – Enjoying Adventures

TA Ambassadors play such a vital role in promoting our cause. After all, who better to talk about the importance of our services than those who receive the direct benefits – our TA – adaptive athletes, family members, volunteers, and alumni.

Perhaps you have been following Bill and Ellen Painter in some of our recent Facebook and TA – WeAdapt4U blog posts – Blind Cyclist & Wife Team Up to Ride 25th MS150 (Part 1) and Blind Cyclist & Wife Ride 25th MS150 (Part 2). If not, check out what this couple has been up to.

As a TA ambassador, Ellen recently shared her experiences riding with her husband, Bill in the MS150 using a new adaptive Tandem TerraTrike. **Bill has overcome a progressive loss of his sight and is now blind. This has not prevented the couple from enjoying the sport of cycling together.

Ellen did a short presentation at the Synergy Success Circle (SSC) regarding the story of how she and Bill got a Tandem TerraTrike. SSC is a ladies group that meets monthly at McAlister’s in Harrisonburg. It is founded by Christina Kunkle of Synergy Life and Wellness Coaching. Christina is pictured next to Ellen.

The other pictures are of Ellen & Bill wearing their Therapeutic Adventures – Travel Team shirts at a recent training/exploratory ride in Maryland. Thank you both for being TA Ambassadors when cycling and when sharing your experiences cycling together. Please note: The adaptive Tandem TerraTrike has Therapeutic Adventures (TA) & Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) decals.
